Vietnamese leading tourism enterprises honored

(TITC) – On the occasion of 56th anniversary of Viet Nam's tourism sector (July 9, 1960 - 2016), on 9 July, at the Ha Noi Opera House, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA) held a ceremony to announce the winners of 17th Viet Nam Tourism Award.

In his speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien highly valued the efforts and contribution of business community to the development of Viet Nam tourism. Tourism has increasingly been contributing to GDP, job creation and fostering other industries. Viet Nam tourism is striving to become a key economic sector of the country.

At the ceremony, 105 Vietnamese leading tourism enterprises were awarded, including:

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien award to 5-star hotels

Top ten 5-star hotels: InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula, Rex Hotel (HCM City), Metropole Ha Noi, Vinpearl Da Nang Resort & Villas, Grand Hotel (HCM City), Majestic Hotel (HCM City), Fusion Maia Da Nang, JW Marriott Ha Noi, Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort, and Melia Ha Noi.

Top five tourist attractions: Vietnamese Women’s Museum (Ha Noi City), Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology (Ha Noi City), Hue Imperial Citadel (Thua Thien Hue Province), Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, and Sai Gon Zoo and Botanical Garden (HCM City).

Top five tourist rest stops: Viet Tien Son and Minh Anh (Hai Duong Province), Hai Van (Da Nang City), Sai Gon – Song Cau (Phu Yen Province), and Mekong (Tien Giang Province).
