Tien Sa Port receives Asia’s large cruise ship

The Asia’s largest cruise ship Genting Dream on November 11th docked at Tien Sa Port in the central coastal city of Da Nang, bringing more than 4,000 tourists to the city.

The Genting Dream is a modern new-generation vessel built in Germany. It has a length overall of 335 meters and is 39.7 meters in width.

The 19-deck cruiser has the capacity to accommodate 3,400 cruise passengers and 2,000 crew members, featuring a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1.7, which is the highest of any Asia Pacific ship.

On its route from November 8th to 10th, the cruise ship arrived at Vietnam’s large ports in Ho Chi Minh city, Nha Trang and Da Nang. After that, it continues its tour to Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, maritime tourists made a big proportion of and are very important for the city’s tourism development. So far this year, Da Nang has received 58 cruise ships with 81,217 foreign arrivals, a 3.6 fold increase over a year earlier.
