Ninh Binh welcomes more than 5.2 million visitors in first half of 2018

The northern province of Ninh Binh received more than 5.2 million visitors during the first half of this year, meeting 73.3% of the year’s plan and up 5.3% against the same period last year, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.  

Of the figure, 435,330 arrivals were foreigners, up 2.4% and 4,839,324 were domestic tourists, up 5.6%. The province earned VND1,924 billion from tourism revenue, a year-on-year rise of 18.2%.

In the period, many major cultural events were held in the province such as a grand ceremony to mark the 1,050th anniversary of the establishment of Dai Co Viet - the first feudal state of Viet Nam, a tourism week and a Trang An festival, which all contributed to drawing more domestic and foreign visitors to Ninh Binh.

In addition, the province’s tourism has been on a strong development curve recently and has made many new breakthroughs.

Trang An Complex, Tam Coc-Bich Dong, Van Long Lagoon, and Thung Nham bird garden are attractive destinations that visitors should not miss during their Ninh Binh trip.

The local tourism environment has seen remarkable improvements in  security, environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety along with diversified tourism promotion activities.

The province has set a target of welcoming around 2.1 million visitors, including 470,000 foreigners during the second half of this year, which will generate a revenue of around VND1.03 trillion.
