Việt Nam Railway suspends some passenger trains due to virus

Hà Nội Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has announced the temporary suspension of the two North-South trains due to the impact of COVID-19.

The daily SE9 and SE10 trains running from Hà Nội to HCM City and vice versa will halt operations from March 26 to April 28.

Other trains on North-South route from SE1 to SE8 are still in operation as normal.

Passengers who booked tickets on SE9 and SE10 trains will be allowed to get refunds or exchange tickets for other routes.

Due to stopping the SE9 and 10 trains, the Việt Nam Railway will also adjust the schedule of the SE1 train at stations of Hà Nội, Phủ Lý and Nam Định and Ninh Bình from March 25.

Specifically, the SE1 train will start from Hà Nội at 10.15pm, stopping at Hà Nam Province's Phủ Lý station at 11.15pm, at Nam Định at 11.49pm and at Ninh Bình at 0.22am.

The YB3 and YB4 trains running from Hà Nội to Yên Bái Province on Saturday and Sunday will not operate from March 28.

QT1 and QT2 trains that run daily on the Hà Nội-Quán Triều route will only operate on the weekends.

Accordingly, the QT1 train will start in Hà Nội at 4.20pm every Saturday from March 28.

The QT2 train departs from Quán Triều station in Thái Nguyên Province at 5.40am every Sunday from March 22.

Previously, the Hà Nội Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also suspended the operation of all passenger trains on the Hà Nội-Lào Cai route and two trains SE19, 20 of Hà Nội-Đà Nẵng route amid the pandemic.
