The event, which officially kicked off on January 23, was jointly held by the Hanoi Promotion Agency, Son Tay Town People’s Committee and relevant agencies.

The programme featured the participation of nearly 30 ambassadors and representatives from international organisations in Hanoi.

In the warm atmosphere of the days ahead of Tet, the ambassadors and representatives from diplomatic missions and international organisations experienced many traditional activities such as a Tet rural market in Mong Phu temple, pavilions introducing specialties and handicrafts from trade villages, calligraphy and to he (a traditional toy manually made with glutinous rice powder).

Especially, many foreign visitors joined local people to make banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), an indispensable cake during Tet festival.

At the programme, visitors will have the chance to learn about the traditional costumes of ethnic groups including clothes, jewelry and accessories for daily activities, production, parties and celebrations.

The programme aimed to promote the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese Tet Festival to international friends.

In addition, the programme is expected to promote the stimulation of Hanoi’s tourism, especially Duong Lam ancient village.
