The three-day event features various activities including a trade promotion conference, a festival highlighting the province’s iconic shrimp and salt products, and a survey to develop new tourist products for Bac Lieu Province.

Notably, an art space is being staged to honour UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritages in different regions throughout the country, including Ca Tru (ceremonial singing), the gong cultural space of Central Highlanders, Bai Choi folk singing of Southerners, and Quan Ho love duet singing from northern Bac Ninh Province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam hailed the event as one of the moves taken by Bac Lieu Province to realise Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s direction at the National Cultural Conference, which was held last year to preserve and further promote the value of cultural heritages and contribute to upholding cultural identity associated with tourism and socio-economic development.

He asked the local authorities to exert greater effort to safeguarding and promoting culture, which is the spiritual foundation of society and a driving force for sustainable development.
