Update: Aug 26, 2014
Nearly 1,000 documents of historical value will be on display at an exhibition on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) community and Viet Nam’s national holiday to be held from August 28th to September 15th.

Entitled “ASEAN cultural space” the exhibition will take place at the National Library of Viet Nam, 31 Trang Thi Street, Ha Noi.

The documents include photos, paintings, books and newspapers in different languages. The exhibits were selected from the 2.5 million documents stored in the library.

The exhibition is divided into four topic areas: Viet Nam’s August Revolution (1945) and National Day (September 2); the country’s developmental achievements since its reform process started in 1986; the economic, cultural, and maritime status of Viet Nam, the Viet Nam-ASEAN cooperation, and the country's role in the ASEAN community.

The image of Viet Namese people, special cultural characteristics, and a number of well-known literary, architectural, and cinematographic products of ASEAN countries will also be showcased at the event.

The event aims at marking the 69th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day (September 2, 1945), the 47th anniversary of ASEAN (August 8, 1967), and 19 years of Viet Nam’s entry into ASEAN (July 28, 1995).
