Choir festival entitled “Songs presented to the Party”

Basic Cultural Departmetn and HCMC Department of Culture and Sports organized the choir festival entitled “Songs presented to the Party” at Ho Chi Minh City Theatre on August 20th.

The event was co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and the Public Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Over 500 artists from seven choirs of cultural centres in Ho Chi Minh City and the Can Tho City Culture-Arts School participated in a choir festival.

Addressing at the opening ceremony, Vuong Duy Bao, vice-head of Basic Cultural Department said that the festival was one of some essential activities to celebrate 70 years for August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

As planned, each choir had two choral performances in praise of the great stature and historical values of the August Revolution in 1945 and the National Day on September 2nd, the leading role of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh to affirm aspiration for peace and the solidarity spirit of ethnic minority groups of Viet Nam.
