GEOGRAPHY

Situated in South-Central Coast, Phu Yen shares border with Binh Dinh Province on the north, Khanh Hoa Province on the south, Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces on the west and East Sea on the east. The terrain is divided into two main area including mountain, hill, plain and more than 100km seaside.


Phu Yen has a quite diversified resources of land, forest, sea, rivers, lagoons, bays such as Cu Mong, Xuan Dai bays, O Loan, Vung Ro lagoons, Ba, Ky Lo, and Ban Thach rivers. Phu Yen owns Da Rang Bridge, the longest one in Central Viet Nam


Climate: Influenced by ocean climate, the weather here is hot with high humid and lots of rain. Average annual temperature is 26.5oC. 

 

TOURISM

Phu Yen has been endowed by nature with a peaceful and romantic environment that has attracted many visitors. The city of Tuy Hoa has sheltered local residents’ houses amid green fields and around the Chop Chai Mountain. Clear and blue-water beaches stretch out with white sand dunes and wild rock plates - all making the location a magnificent work of nature.


Phu Yen has beautiful landscapes following: Nhan Tower on the northern bank of the Da Rang River. This was a place of worship for the Cham people dated in the late 11th to the early 12th centuries.

 

 

Built near the peaceful Ba River, the Mang Lang Temple with its nearly 120 year-old history, has preserved a national precious item, the Catechisms book, the first national language printed book of the Vietnamese made by Priest Alexandre de Rhodesin 1651 in Rome.


On the north, visitors are able to swim in My A Beach (Long Thuy), an incredibly beautiful beach with white sand and clear water under the shadows of coconut trees, discover O Loan lagoon – a national-level beauty-spot, attracts visitors due to its romantic feel. There are lots of special aquatic products living in the lake, of which the O Loan blood cockles are particularly well known in the region, or discover Da Dia Rapids - a strange geological scene and said to be second-to-none in Viet Nam with special 35,000 stone columns.

On the south, there are Bac Deo Ca Natural Preservation that has rich of flora and fauna, Vung Ro Port and Vung Ro Bay with deep blue water. Visitors can take tours to see the beauty of the ocean or climb Da Bia Mountain always covered in white mist. Not too far from Vung Ro Bay is Dai Lanh Cape, the easternmost pole of the country’s mainland where the first rays of the dawn comes to the S-shaped country of Viet Nam. The west of Phu Yen is KrongTrai National Preservation and Go Thi Thung Vestige. The most famous seafood dish form in this area is grilled blood clam. 


With its huge sea potential and natural beauty-spots that have been depicted in many poems, songs and movies, Phu Yen Province has plenty of opportunities for further development.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Road: Tuy Hoa City is 120km from Nha Trang, 560km from Ho Chi Minh City and 1,130km from Ha Noi. National Road N°. 1 run throws the province.


Air: Jetstar and Vietjet offer flights from Tuy Hoa to Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
 

Train: The Reunification Express trains between Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City stop here.
