(TITC) – On 20 September 2016, in Ha Noi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) in collaboration with Lao Cai Province organized the press conference to introduce the activities of the 13th Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of the Northwestern ethnic minorities in Lao Cai.

The festival aims to promote cultural identities of ethnic minorities in the Northwest region and contribute to socio-economic development and solidarity of the community.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister Huynh Vinh Ai emphasized that the festival is an opportunity for Northwestern ethnic minorities to introduce the unique value of cultural heritage in the region.
With the theme “Northwestern ethnic minorities - unity and development towards National Tourism Year 2017”, the festival attracts the participation of provinces of Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Ha Giang.
The festival will be held from 1-3 October 2016 in Lao Cai Province with diverse cultural activities, including art performances, traditional ethnic clothing shows, exhibition on cultural and tourism products; photo exhibition and sports activities.
The opening ceremony will take place at 8pm on 1 October at Nam Cuong Square, Tran Hung Dao Boulevard, Lao Cai City.
