700th anniversary of Tran Quoc Tang's death to be held on Sep 18-20

The information was released at a press meeting on the ceremony commemorating the 700th anniversary of the death of His Royal Highness Tran Quoc Tang.

 

 

 

 

Tran Quoc Tang is the third son of Tran Hung Dao who defeated many enemies and brought peace to the region in the 13th century. He is worshipped at Cua Ong Temple in Cua Ong ward, Cam Pha city.

 

About 40km far from north-eastern Ha Long city, the temple has currently become popular with Vietnamese holiday-makers, foreign tourists and locals, especially fishermen who come here to pray for good luck before setting sail out on the great blue yonder.

 

The ceremony aims to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of His Royal Highness Tran Quoc Tang and boost local tourism as well.

 

According to organizers, the main activities in the ceremony will include a requiem at Tran Quoc Tang Square, the releasing of flower garlands and colored lanterns at Tai Xa Ferry Station, and a scientific seminar about on Tran Quoc Tang and Cua Ong Temple.

 

As scheduled, the anniversary will last from September 18th to 20th.
