(TITC) - On 13th October 2013, at Hai Phong Palace of Youth Culture - Sports (Hai Phong City), the opening ceremony of National Contests of Tour Guide and Hotel Front Office and Food Festival of the Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013 was held.
These events are in the framework of the National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013 and organized by Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in coordination with People's Committee and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City to honour jobs in the tourism industry. They are also opportunity for tour guides, hotel front office staffs, chefs to improve skills and knowledge to contribute to raising tourism service quality and meeting requirements of tourists.
The ceremony had the attendances of Director General of VNAT Nguyen Van Tuan; Deputy Chairman of Hai Phong City's People's Committee Le Khac Nam; Director of Hai Phong City's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Duy Linh and delegates.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director General of VNAT Nguyen Van Tuan emphasized that National Contests of Tour Guide and Hotel Front Office and Food Festival of the Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013 are important events of the tourism industry and also opportunity to honour excellent tour guides and hotel front office staffs and promote unique cuisine dishes...
Food Festival of the Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013 took place from 13th to 15th October 2013 at Hai Phong Palace of Youth Culture - Sports with the participations of nearly 50 booths from 11 provinces and cities. The famous dishes were displayed at the festival such as Asian Cuisine Records - crab noodle, Vietnamese Cuisine Records - tuna rolls, cuttle - fish rolls...The booths which have beautiful design and excellent presentation were awarded by the organization board at the closing ceremony on 15th October 2013 in Hai Phong Palace of Youth Culture - Sports.
At the same time, more than 90 hotel front office staffs from 17 provinces and cities registered to participate in the preliminary examination of the National Contest of Hotel Front Office at Camela Hotel. The final of the contest will take place in the evening of 16th October 2013 at Hai Phong Municipal Theatre.
Along with the National Contest of Hotel Front Office, at Sea Stars Hotel, the preliminary examination of National Contest of Tour Guide also took place with the participations of nearly 50 domestic tour guides and 30 international ones from tourism enterprises nationwide. The closing of the contest will be held on 17th October 2013 at Hai Phong Municipal Theatre.
