Boosting tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Gifu Province (Japan)

(TITC) – Aiming to boost tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan, particularly Gifu Province, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) will hold a seminar on connecting and promoting tourism between Viet Nam and Gifu Province due on 20 July, at Gifu Miyako hotel, Japan.

The seminar is expected to have attendance of leaders of VNAT and Gifu Province, representatives of Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Gifu-Viet Nam Friendship Assembly, BIDV and localities, tourism  businesses of the two sides.

This is a good chance for tourism businesses and localities of Viet Nam and Japan to share experiences, foster cooperation and investment into the field of tourism.

Beside the seminar, from 19-20 July, Vietnamese delegation will visit some famous tourism destinations in Gifu Province namely Seki Kaji Denshokan Museum where the sword and knife documents are displayed; Hamonoya Sanshu knife shop; Historic site of Shirakawa-go Village; and visiting morning market, old merchant town and historic site of Government Memorial Hall in Takayama District.

In 2015, Viet Nam welcomed 671,379 Japanese arrivals, increasing 3.6% over 2014; and there were more than 200,000 Vietnamese arrivals to Japan. In the first six months of 2016, the number of Japanese tourists to Viet Nam reached 355,886 arrivals, up 12.4% over the same period last year.
