Raglai ethnic cultural festival due in late August
Update: Jul 31, 2013
Ninh Thuan province will host the first cultural festival for Raglai ethnic people in Bac Ai district from August 29-31.

Around 500 Raglai artisans, artists and musicians from Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, and Ninh Thuan provinces are scheduled to participate.

They will be joined by 150 artists from the Viet Bac Folk Music, Song, and Dance Theatre as well as four other provincial art troupes.

The festival's visitors can expect to enjoy Raglai art, fashion, and music performances, try out traditional folk games, sample a cooking competition's entries, and deepen their understanding of Raglai culture through exhibitions and workshops.

As well as honouring the unique culture of the Raglai ethnicity, the festival also promotes tourism and improves intercommunication among provinces where Raglai ethnic people reside.

The festival's opening ceremony will take place at 8PM on August 30.
