Free admission for visitors to Hue heritage sites during Tet holiday

Vietnamese visitors will enjoy free admission to Hue heritage sites during the first three days of the Lunar New Year, from February 19-21, the Hue Monument Conservation Centre (HMCC) has announced.

At present, tickets for the royal citadel tour are priced at VND30,000-VND75,000 for locals and VND40,000 –VND105,000 for foreigners.

The visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a series of cultural activities, including the Changing of the Guards ceremony at Ngo Mon (Noon Gate), royal games, lion dancing, traditional martial art and royal music performances at Thai Hoa palaces and Dai Noi (the Royal Palace) over the three days.

Earlier, the HMCC will hold a Tet pole raising ceremony at The Mieu temple and Long An palace on February 11 at 9am and 10am.

Aiming to raise public awareness regarding the preservation of the Hue heritage sites in general and An Dinh Palace in particular, the HMCC will open a free exhibition at Khai Tuong Lau showroom in An Dinh palace from January 20 to March 30.

The exhibition offers a clear insight into the living space of Hoang Thai Hau and King Bao Dai’s family with over 40 photos, 100 original objects and 30 documents.
