Summer escape in Bai Da
Update: Jun 20, 2013
There are many popular sightseeing spots in Son Tra Peninsular, Danang City like Linh Ung Pagoda where the highest statue of God of Mercy is located, radar hill overlooking the whole of the bay, and numerous beaches like Bai Rang, Bai But, Bai Nam, and Bai Tien Sa. But tourists who prefer primitive and tranquil landscapes should note Bai Da (stone beach).

The beach is nestled on Son Tra Mountain which is 1km from its popular neighbor Bai Rang. Tourists will find it interesting to admire two natural ponds on the beach which were created from giant stones and rafts which are 1km offshore for travelers who love to fish.

The two natural ponds have a pure and shallow water level that is safe for kids who are accompanied with families. Adults can go a little further into the sea to see the coral reefs and colorful fishes coming in groups.

For those who like fishing, you can rent a boat to reach the rafts which are located close to each other. Mu, ba trau, and hong are popular kinds of fish at the site. People are advised to bring food, drinks and swimsuits to relax afterwards.

Travelers can come to Bai Da from 8 a.m. onwards and rent a house on stilts with a capacity of 10-30 people at prices from VND200,000 to VND400,000. They can bring food and drinks to make their own style BBQ party. The house will be offered for free or a 50% discount if tourists choose to enjoy available seafood and drinks at the site. Especially, transportation fees for the raft for fishing will also be free of charge for house occupants.

Danang authorities in April launched two waterway tours to take tourists to discover Han River and numerous beaches on Son Tra Peninsular. One of them is the tour Kham pha bai cat vang (Discovering the golden sand) taking guests to Bai Da Den located inside Bai Da to join in sport activities, diving, fishing, boat racing and savoring seafood.
